Class Setup

This class will follow a “flipped classroom” setup. This means instead of being introduced to concepts and information during class, students will have the opportunity to start digesting concepts and information before class. This will allow for more productive in-class discussions and exercises. In other words, in between in-person sessions, students will make asynchronous progress. Then in-person sessions on Saturdays, students will be able to work together, explore together, get key questions answered, and make even more progress on course materials.

Class Content

Class will be based on Meta’s Spark program. Meta Spark is Meta’s AR platform. More specifically, students will learn how to use and create on Meta’s Spark Studio platform. Meta Spark Studio is Meta Spark’s AR creator environment via a suite of digital tools.

Students will learn through Meta’s online Meta Spark Studio Curriculum comprised of 3 modules: Quick Start, AR Fundamentals, and AR Pro.

The course will lead up to Meta’s Spark Creator Certification Exam. Students who complete the course will have the opportunity to take the exam. Throughout the course, students will have the learn the necessary concepts that will help them pass the exam.

Additional Details

As a result of navigating the course, students will have access to unique resources and even job boards. In addition to these resources, as well as the Certification Exam, the course will also lead up to an end-of-course Hackathon and employer day.
